There
are two ways that the industry acquires its Front-Line
managers:
- The
first is to promote the entry-level/ associates
to Team Leader levels. While these employees are familiar
with the ITES-BPO environment, they need to acquire
general
management
skills such as people management, understanding of
business issues, quality management and operations
management as well as their application on the floor.
- The
ITES-BPO sector also recruits its Front-Line Management
laterally from other industries. These managers may
have some of the required general management skills.
However, they are strangers to the ITES-BPO environment.
While
the 'entry behavior' in both cases would be different,
the 'exit behavior' of these managers after attending
the workshop will be the same.
In
the certification program, people who are not nominated
by the company may need to go through a pre-qualification
round.
